Welcome to the Linton cap, one of the more contemporary designs in our cap family.
Once again we favour the security of a deeper back, but in this case the cut is that of sweeping lines embracing a fashionable – handsewn – curved peak.
We love them in all tweeds, but they’re also available the linens (Foss & Twiss) for spring & summer wear.

This incorporates 'top-stitched' segments, meeting along a central seam and carrying our traditional hessian interlining as well as sporting a straight peak with stud fastening.

The Boston cap is a contemporary adaptation of our classic Garforth flat cap shape, with a deep back and crown and the addition of an elegant curved peak.
For a touch of seasonal luxury, we offer it here in a choice of Yorkshire cashmere cloth alongside our established range of tweeds & linens. It is finished in our traditional style with a soft interlining and hand-sewn peak.

Great shape, hat looks sharp in the Dearn tweed. The fit is perfect, and the deep back makes for a secure hold. The cap kept my head nice and dry when I was out in the drizzle all day long. I can’t wait for it to get colder so i can wear it everyday!

I am in my late 20’s and I find the Linton cap an amazing compromise between a traditional and a contemporary cap.
In the past, I ordered a Linton in the Loxley tweed in the past, which is gorgeous, but the size was a little too tight for me. Now I have ordered my second one, in Derwent tweed and one size up, which is perfect.

I had one of these last year but a friend expressed how much he liked it and so I gave it to him. I have now ordered another. It is a beautiful cap with a slightly modern twist, but not enough so to take away it’s classic apprearence. As always with L. and F. it is well worth the money and nicer than anything here in the states.

I’ve bought a few flat caps from various places but none have the attention to detail of your Linton cap I recently bought.
The tailoring is so precise in matching the check patterns, as is the fit of the lining inside. I bought the Dearn fabric as pictured for a change from herringbone.
As for fit, the cap is the most comfortable I own. Hardly notice I have it on. It comes a good way down the back of the head too.
It isn’t the thickest in terms of material but it’s a tight weave that stops a lot of wind, keeping my head warm.
I’m in my early forties and this is a good contemporary looking cap rather than grandad style.

When my Linton cap arrived I was delighted with the style of the cap and the fantastic workmanship. Unfortunately the style did not suit my head shape and was a little tight. Despite having completed my order to the letter, Lawrence & Foster were happy to suggest a more suitable cap for me and exchanged the item without quibble. My replacement cap is equally as superb and is much more suitable for my needs.
